Absence matters in a safety-critical setting because it interacts with competence: a driver returning from long-term sickness may need reassessment before signing on. Leave & Absence tracks entitlements and absence with an approval workflow, and keeps the record next to the competency data rather than in a separate HR system.
Entitlements and balances per employee
Each employee has an entitlement for the leave year with the balance maintained as requests are approved. Anyone in the company can raise a request when the module is active; managers approve and manage according to their permissions.

Leave year policy and reporting
The leave year and its policy are configurable, so the module reflects how your organisation actually operates. Reporting shows absence patterns across the company, and each employee record carries its own summary.
Activating Leave & Absence
Add-on modules are activated from the Add-ons page inside Rail Intel. Each module can be taken on an annual subscription or trialled for 14 days, and your system administrator can enable it for your company directly.
